    C drive running almost constantly since last W11 update


    I have tried to uninstall the latest "update", Visual Studio Client Detector Utility, uninstall failed. C drive still is in the R/W mode almost constantly. It is a 1.8TB drive if that makes any difference.I have 4 HD:C: 1.8TBD: 1.8 TBF: 4.66 GBK: 1.8 TB2 ea. DVD RW DrivesRAM: 95.9GBAMD Radeon RX 6650 XT GPUAMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core

    Drive C constantly updating.

    Since installing Windows 10 on the laptop, it is constantly searching and repairing Drive C . I have checked for problems with the drives but a message says there is not a problem.

    It has become a real pest, any ideas how to stop it please.?

    Installing an SSD drive on my desktop to use as the C bootup drive

    What are you talking about, I have Samsung 830 for 5 years and its still running great there is no issue with NTFS and SSD

    To the OP all you have to do is use Macrium Reflect to clone your disk to your SSD you'll have to option to shrink your C partition before you start the actual clone check out this video
    it walks you through step by step

    Hard drive running almost constantly since last W11 update

    What is it that since I did my last Windows 11 update a few days ago that the hard drive on my laptop seems to be almost constantly running???? Never had that issue before. Every time I open a document of any type it starts running and stays running. It goes off for a minute and starts running again.
