Windows 10: C drive space is getting reduced day by day and I have no idea on how to look for culprit

C drive in my system is getting bloated day by day. Right now, I have just 9GB available from a possible103GB SSD Drive. I have attached the treemap screenshot for the same. Please advice on how to proceed further.

C drive free space is reducing automatically

I have windows 10 operating system. Last day I updated the windows then suddenly today I saw that my C drive free space has been reduced. Before update it was 96 gb of free space now it has 75 gb free space. How can I get more free space ?

Is there anything to clean up?

 

Free space in C drive keeps reducing

I have been using Win 10 Pro on my laptop for a while now. And I have noticed that the free space in my C drive keeps reducing on its own.

I tried adding the total size of all the folders (including hidden folders) in my C drive (eg Windows, Program files, Users, etc.) and it comes to around 51GB. The total size of my C drive is 96.8 GB and on "This PC" it shows free space of just 15.4 GB.
A few days back it was 19.4 GB.

Whats wrong with my C drive? Whats eating up all the free space?

 

C: drive storage reducing day by day after upgrading to windows 11

Hi,

This is Ramprasath. I have recently upgraded my i5-1035g1 8gb RAM dell Inspiron 3593 to windows 11 from windows 10. After the upgrade I notice that the C: drive (250gb SSD) storage was reducing day by day even. I have neither installed any apps nor stored any documents in C disk.

Initially after the upgrade the free space was around 99+ GB and now it have reduced to 88.3 GB in 2-3 days.

Apart from touching the windows update folders and the windows.old folder (as I may return back to windows 10 if this persists), I have done all the cleanup process to free the C: disk.

I have tried the following, but I have not found any improvement/solution in any of these steps:

1) C: disk cleanup (C:/ -> Properties -> disk cleanup)

2) Resetting windows store (wsreset.exe) to prevent accumulation of .appx storage in temp folder

3) Tried switching off the hibernation mode

4) Ran the windows file checker (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth & sfc /scannow)

It would be helpful if someone help me sort out this issue. Thanks!
