Missing apps after W10 creators update

This is most likely because icon files are missing on the system (at least that was the case for me) after creators update.

To check click Find, then type Excel, then right-click and Open File Location. Open Notepad and drag and drop, say, Excel 2013 into it.

Note the location if icons file - %SystemRoot%\Installer\{91150000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}\xlicons.exe

Try to navigate there with Explorer, most likely this directory is not there.

If you still have Windows.old files, then you can easily restore from

C:\Windows.old\WINDOWS\Installer\{91150000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}

Simply copy the {91150000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE} folder from there to %SystemRoot%\Installer - you will need administrator access for this.

Then, three-finger salute, Sign Out and sign back in. Office icons should be back.

Got an event saying Échec de détection du produit ‘{90150000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}’, fonctionnalité ‘ProductNonBootFiles’ lors de la demande du composant ‘{22056900-C842-11D1-A0DD-00A0C9054277}’

Did a Office 2013 repair but it failed with an error pointing to a registry key error (write permission issue). I did a search in the registry, changed the security settings for every match, then rebooted, and mp3gain launched without calling any Office
install.
