Windows 10: C++ redistributable 2017 won't install

I'm trying to install some third-party software. During the installation process, it states that Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables 2017 x86 and x64 are not installed on the computer, then tries to install them and fails. Looking under add/remove programs under settings it looks like 2015-2019 redistributables are already installed and after some investigation, it looks like 2015, 2017, and 2019 are all covered under the same redistributable package? I tried to download just the 2017 version from the link of the old version for visual studios, but that install failed stating that I already had the software installed. What I think is happening is that the third-party software does not recognize the 2015-2019 redistributable as the package it needs and then tries to install an older version of 2017 redistributable. I've reached out to the vendor to see if there is a solution, but I wonder if this is not a fairly common issue and was wondering if the Microsoft community had any solutions. I'm resistant to delete 2015-2019 redistributable even though I suspect that would fix the problem.

Visual C++ Redistributable won't install?

This issue might if the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package is not installed properly.

I suggest you to uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Uninstall the exiting Microsoft Visual C++.

a) Press Windows key + x key and select
Programs and Features.

b) Right click on the Microsoft Visual C++ and uninstall it.

Step 2: Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and install it.

Sometimes when i install games, at the end they require two other components:
directX update and C++ 2005 redistributable.
Now the question is: This C++ 2005 means that the game was written in MSVC 2005?
