The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

  2. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\Taskbar\ - not enough memory error

This `there is not enough free memory to run this program. exit one or more programs, and then try again` issue (that has nothing to do with memory) seems to be a problem going back a decade. Every once in a while Windows will go into a state where clicking on a taskbar link will throw this error. Task manager says I have plenty of resources to open Edge browser or whatever it is I am trying to load from the taskbar, and yes if load the program from the start menu or from within the installed app folder in Explorer the app will load without issue. If I remove the taskbar link and pin a new one, I have the same problem. Could this taskbar issue please be fixed?

    Links that work:

If I go into `C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs` the Target path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" and the Start In path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application".

Taskbar links that do not work:

If I go into `C:\Users\[usernam]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar` the Target path is `"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --profile-directory=Default` and the Start In path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application".

If I manually go to `C:\Users\[usernam]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar` within Explorer and double-click the link the app will open. But trying to open the app from the taskbar throws the error. This issue has nothing to do with memory and the error message is not in the least bit helpful.

Quick launch toolbar folder is removed periodically

xTL, thanks for the CCleaner reminder and for pointing out "C:\Users\UserProfile\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar" folder. Everything is working fine and the Quick Launch toolbar is no longer affected by the cleanup process.
