I am trying to open my Sims and I get this message.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

after the new windows update of yesterday I keep getting a window that says:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error...." when I run GOG galaxy (that was working the day before!)

I tried to install the program again, nothing. I tried with the redistributables, nothing. I don't know what else to do.

All I know is that every time windows releases an update, something in my pc stops working.

I am layman does not understand all these technical jargon & unable to do all this.

Please help with some kind of simple step by step procedure which will help layman like me to fix this error of
