  1. CACHE MANAGER BSOD on USB disk

I have been trying to reformat a 1 TB USB disk from EXT3 to FAT 32 using EaseUS Partition Master and have no data on the disk in need of recovery.

The reformat appeared to work initially but disk still appears to be in EXT3 format

When the disk is connected to the PC Win 10 it now always leads to the BSOD with Stop code: CACHE MANAGER after a few seconds, same if I boot with it connected. I have managed to start in Safe Mode without the crash but am unable to reformat from there. Any help with how to get this to a position to reformat would be gratefully received.

I believe the disk is physically sound.

    Many thanks

    :)

  2. Disk management console view is not up-to-date

i dont know how to fix your disk management, but i can fix your partition problems...

open up Command Prompt with admin rights. (Right click, run as admin)

    enter in
    DISKPART
    list disk

then find the Disk number for your Raid array... lets call it number 7 ( you can tell what disk is what by the total size)
    type in

    Select Disk 7
List Partition (will give you a list of all the partitions..)
Select Partition 1 (im assuming you only have 1 partition on Disk 7) repeat this step if you have more partitions.
    ASSIGN

that should get the array up and running ready to use.

    EDITED.

    any problems, post back ^^

Still EDITING *Stick Out Tongue CACHE MANAGER BSOD on USB disk :p

side question, have you tried restarting the PC?

  3. Disk Management

    Hi Keith,

Thanks for providing the detail that was requested previously. Since the disk management screen that you saw is showing greyed out options, we suggest that you follow the steps below to change the partition type of your internal drive:

    • Open Disk Management then right click the partition on the disk you want to covert and select Delete Volume.
    • Once you complete the process you will see the whole disk shown as two separate unallocated spaces. Right-click the disk and select Convert to GPT disk.

After the conversion, you will be able to use the whole disk and then you can create new separate partitions.

We look forward to your response to our queries.

CACHE MANAGER BSOD on USB disk

external hard drive showing up in device management but not disk management

    Hi,

I recently tried to use a brand new Seagate 2TB External HD, but it is not showing up. It initially showed up, but after I tried reformatting it to exFAT32, it disappeared from the disk management list.

    I then tried:

    • refreshing the disk management list,
    • inserting into a different USB port,
    • re-starting my computer, and
    • uninstalling the device from device manager/letting it refresh,

I still can't see it. There is no yellow error in the USB controller list.

    I'm on Windows 10.

    Intel i5-3317U @ 1.7GHz

    Any suggestions? Thanks!
