Cached Memory problem on Windows 10

    Hey,

I'm aware that Windows uses RAM that's free and is not used, but is it normal that it doesn't give it back when needed?

I tried changing RAM speed from 3200MHz to 3133MHz and it helped a bit but not enough.

When I'm playing games and I need more RAM for it, Windows gives me like 0,3GB from cached memory. This is not enough and after some time game crashes sometimes other applications if open; discord, chrome, etc..

I find it stupid that I should clear my cached memory by running an app for it or restart the computer, always before I start playing video games.

I have 16GB of RAM and find it stupid that I can't even use half of it when Windows needs so much RAM.

Is there any way I could fix this?

Here are some pics I took from my RAM:

Windows Idle with Chrome, Discord, and Microsoft Teams open.

After opening the Black Desert Online -game. Discord and Black Desert Online crashes.

And for those who say that it's Chromes and Discord's fault, this is just an example, and games crash even when Discord or Chrome is not open.

I feel like I should add that I didn't have this kind of problems when I still used to have 8GB of RAM.

    :)

  2. Windows Store Cache Problems (Windows 10)

    Hi,

Corrupted Windows Store components are one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. Let's try resetting Windows Store cache as the administrator. Follow the steps below:

    • Type wsreset.exe in the search box.
    • Right-click wsreset, then select Run as Administrator.
    • Complete the process, then open Windows Store to test.
If the issue still persists, we recommend following the suggested steps by
    SpiritX MS MVP
on this thread. Follow the steps 1 to 4 and see if it helps.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
