    Calculator app repeatedly opening causing system to slow, does anyone know why?


    This has only happened twice or maybe 3 times, months apart. The calculator app starts opening itself very quickly a lot, to the point where I do not have long to act before things get very slow, both times I have had to hold down the power button to do a hard reset, and all works fine after restarting. This does not happen right after startup, this has happened a few hours into using my laptop each time. My OS is windows 10, and to confirm the calculator is not enabled on startup in task manager.I have now runDISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealthfollowed bysfc /scannowSo I shoul

    I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I want to apologize if you encountered this issue. I understand you have a problem with Calculator. Did you mean the Calculator app?

    **Run the troubleshooter:

    Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

    **Reset the Microsoft Store cache

    Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

    Note

    A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

    Press Start then search Apps and Features

    Search Calculator app on the list

    Click then select Advanced options

    Click Terminate then Reset

    Run the Calculator app again

    If it doesn't work, Select Calculator App in Apps and Features then Click Uninstall

    Open Microsoft Store then search for Calculator App

    Click Get and Install

    Launch again your Calculator

    Hi,

    I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.


    • Are you facing this issue on a local account or the Microsoft account?

    • Are you facing this issue with the built in calculator or the calculator app?
    If it is a built in Calculator I would suggest you to check if you can open and check the status.


    • Press Windows + R keys.

    • Type calc and hit Enter
      and check the status if its opening.
    I would also suggest you to try creating a new user account
    and check if issue persists.
