Windows 10: Calculator "buttons" are moved around and the equal sign button is blue

My cat stepped on a few buttons on the keyboard and now the CE and C seems to be in the wrong section/slot. The equals sign is also blue for no reason. I've tried to reinstall, restart the computer and reset the app to no avail.

Windows 10 calculator Enter equals button doesn't work right

When I open the Windows 10 calculator, I type the first number (say 11) then the asterisk (*, which means multiply) then the next number (say 24), then I hit Enter, and instead of showing the result (like it was an 'equals' button), it just puts a dotted
box around the number box (which had the last number in it, 24), then I have to hit Enter again to get it to 'equals'.

Windows 7 & XP's calculator didn't do this, it just did 'equals', and it seems Windows 10 did this also until a while ago... so... what's going on and how do I fix it?

The calculator button on my keyboard no longer opens the calculator. It launches the "add an account" email feature.

 

Multiple issues: start button/calculator/calendar not working

The following will give you a clean install...but with certain advantages.
If you have an M$ account and are synchronised to the cloud.

If you are prepared to REINSTALL all your Apps....open Settings....Update and Security....Recovery.....Reset this pc.....Choose an Option.

Choose Keep my Files.

When you next sign into your account all files and SETTINGS are restored.

All Apps are uninstalled but a list of them is left on the desktop.
