Windows 10: Calendar app crashes when I start it and never loads

calendar broken; app crashes upon start after few seconds of "loading" WP8 lumia 920 - 2 weeks in use; multiple calendars synced

problem:

My calendar is so broken, that the native calendar app crashes after a few seconds of loading.

No error messages...

a) tip calendar icon

b) screen comes up "loading ..."

c) screen vanishes, and youre back in the apps list.

livetile shows appointments, but when tipping it

it crashes just as described above..



reproduceable, across reboots.

removing calendars from the synctable, deactivation of i.e. gmail alltogether

had no effect. Still crashed.

Calendar app in Windows 10 shows a previously removed calendar event series and crashes if I try to act on it

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

The previous ghost entry which you are referring to might be from your earlier versions of Windows.

as windows stores all the data and remains unaffected while upgrading to windows 10.

For the calendar app getting crashed, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check.

Step-1

Run App troubleshooter :



a. Type ‘Troubleshooting’ in the search next to start.

b. Click on ‘View All’ on left side and select Windows store Apps’.

c. Follow the onscreen instructions



Note: You will need a Microsoft account to run the app troubleshooter.

If the issue persists follow below steps.

Step-2

• Type Windows Powershell in search box.
• Right click on Windows Powershell and select
  Run as administrator.
• Copy and paste the following command.

get-appxpackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | remove-appxpackage

and Press Enter key.

4.After uninstalling the Mail app I suggest you to download and install the app again and check.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
