  1. Calendar app no longer starts after the March 1st update

Today I updated the Mail and Calendar app. The Calendar no longer starts, empty main window appears for a while, then closes. I can reproduce the issue on multiple machines, the latest update 16005.14326.21344.0 is apparently broken. There are already similar reports in the Feedback app: https://aka.ms/AAju1w0I also tried to reset the application data, but it won't help. There are errors in Event Log related to the background HxCalendarAppImm.exe process.

    :)

    Issues with Calendar App

This troubleshooting does not resolve, it's simply that the app is not allowing for DST

    It is easily replicated:

    • In the Calendar App (Windows 10), current version time of writing, add an all-day event on April 1st
    • Add another all-day event on April 5th
DST ends on April 3rd, so the event on April 1st will jump back and appear on March 31st while the April 5th event remains correct

Note: the events appear correctly on Outlook.com's Calendar website

    Hi Glen,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

Which build of Windows 10 is installed on the computer?

I would suggest you to try with the following steps.

    Method 1:

Sign out of the calendar app and then sign back in.

If it does not help, try to reset the calendar app. To reset the app, please follow the steps mentioned below.

    Open the Settings app.

In settings app, click on ‘Apps.

Locate ‘Mail and Calendar’ app in the list of installed apps and click on it.

Click on ‘Advanced options’ under the app name, scroll down and click on ‘Reset’

Launch the Calendar app and go to ‘Month view’ and check if the issue is fixed.

    Method 2:

Try with uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Disclaimer: Uninstalling ‘Mail and Calendar’ will require you to reconfigure the accounts with Mail app when reinstalled.

To uninstall the application, please follow the below mentioned steps.

Right click on Start button and choose ‘Windows PowerShell (admin).

    Type in the command: ‘Get-AppxPackage *microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps* | Remove-AppxPackage
and press the enter key which should remove the app from Windows.

To reinstall it, please open the Store app.

Go to search bar and type ‘Mail and calendar’, click on the app name in suggestions list.

Next, click on ‘Get’ to get the application reinstalled.

    Hope it helps.

Calendar app no longer starts after the March 1st update

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. Calendar app no longer starts after the March 1st update :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
