  1. Call from David Parler suscpicious fake Microsoft employee

Hi,I received a call from a guy who said is David Parker, and who later passed on the call to a "senior officer" named Chetan Bansal. They were telling me Microsoft received warnings and errors form my computer. Unfortunately I believed them up to the point I found on the internet that customers don't receive call from Microsoft. I gave them password to my address IP. Should I change it? And how do I change passwordto IP Address? ThanksLucas

    :)

Call from David Parler (suscpicious fake Microsoft employee)

Greetings, Lucas! My name is Arif, and I will assist you today.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You are correct that Microsoft will not contact you directly unless you initiate a support request or create a ticket related to a specific case.

Regarding your mention of giving them the password to your IP address, if you provided them with any login credentials, it's important to take immediate action:

    1. Change the password for the account that you shared with them.

    2. Verify that they haven't installed anything on your PC via remote applications or accessed it through shared links.

    3. Disconnect your computer from the internet to prevent any further access.

    4. Run a thorough virus scan on your computer to check for any potential threats.

    5. If you're unsure about performing these steps, seek assistance from your IT support team or someone knowledgeable about computer security to help you assess and secure your system as soon as possible.

    Warm Regards,

    Arif
