Windows 10: camera app crashes help

everytime i open the camera app and press record it glitches, stops, then crashes and stops working, how do i fix this

Camera App Crashes at Start Up

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the Windows store app troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

  Select Troubleshooting.

  Select View All on the top left corner.

  Click on Windows Store app.

  Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Missing apps: Store, People, Photos, Games & Camera on upgrading to 10

Thanks for replying spunk. That's the 'alphabetical' list I was referring to, none of these apps are in that 'All apps' list. Any more suggestions?

Hi Francisco,

You only need the media feature pack if you don't already have Media Player or similar features installed. The full set of media features is already installed for all Windows users except for rare exceptions in Korea and Europe where Microsoft is required
by governing authorities to offer versions of Windows without those features.

If you are getting error 0x200F4246, please do two things:

• Run Skype and see if the camera works in that app. If it does, it confirms the issue is with the Windows Camera app.
  
• If the camera doesn't work in Skype, it strongly suggests your camera driver is not installed correctly. In that case, please follow the steps I list above.

If things still don't work, please confirm the error message you're getting. If possible, please also post a screen shot of the Imaging Devices folder within Device Manager. That will help me confirm that your driver is installed correctly.
