    Hello all!

    I have some strange problem with my webcam.
    When I open the Camera app I get "Something went wrong" 0xa00f4273 error.
    ... and the application crashes after that

    In Skype/Hangouts the camera is working BUT the frame rates per seconds are very low - around 5. So the picture is really laggy.

    My driver is: USB2.0 VGA UVC WebCam. Device manager says the driver is up-to-date. In ASUS's website there aren't any webcam drivers.

    Do you have any suggestions? *Smile

    How come: my integrated camera works fine with Skype and Hangout, but not working with Windows 10 Camera app?

    Lenovo W530.

    Upgraded to Win 10 long ago.

    Today first time tried Camera app - no luck. Says "Something wrong..."

    Camera works fine with Skype and Hangout.

    What's wrong with Camera app?

    Camera app and video app don't work with windows 10 or 8

    camera doesn't work with skype and other apps too except with Hangouts and Team viewer. And in video app only audio is working.

    Driver Date 21.6.2006

    Isnt this quite old for a driver? The laptop is a brand new model so I'd expect that the driver is not 9 years old.

    Contacted ASUS support. They told me to install ATKACPI Driver but that didn't help either. Camera is still laggy as hell and picture quality is really bad.

    I wonder if I'm the only one having that issue...

    Update:
    It turned out that the driver is okay. The problem with the low FPS was due to improper camera settings.

    How I resolved it:
    1] Installed Skype
    2] Tools -> Options -> General -> Video Settings -> WebCam Settings -> Camera control
    3] Override the settings for Exposure & uncheck Low Light Compensation.
    4] Changing the settings in Skype reflect globally on the OS

    Unchecking the Low Light Compression considerably increases the FPS rate. In addition, moving the Exposure setting slider left or right can reflect on the FPS in a good way. You just have to find the perfect setting for your camera. Mine was: exposure -4, low light compression unchecked.

    Unfortunatelly, that didn't fix the Camera app problem.
