Windows 10: Camera app not working most of the time Windows 10 Asus laptop

I was in a Zoom meeting yesterday and my camera worked fine i.e. people could see me on video. Today in a similar meeting it showed only a black screen. I've worked through the basics as recommended on the Microsoft help page:Checking camera app separately it still doesn't work, so presumably the app is the problem, not zoom. Windows Camera app no longer works


On my ASUS G74SX-3DE Notebook, Windows Camera no longer works after the app update(s) recently.

It would start up with:




I have no idea who makes the camera for the device and ASUS doesn't provide Windows 10 drivers except the camera works fine with other apps.

Windows installs a driver with the device listed as:
USB2.0 UVC 1M WebCam
in device manager with driver version 10.0.10240.16384 and the date

USB\VID_13D3&PID_5134&MI_00
USB\VID_13D3&PID_5134&REV_0725&MI_00

is the device ID's

Good thing that other applications work with camera...

Can you reset Camera app? Go to Settings / apps, click on Camera - advanced options, and click on Reset

Camera not work on Asus Windows 10 x64. Drivers is correct. Camera work with skype and webcam toy , but Windows integrated app not work. How to solve?
