  1. Camera app on Windows 11, recording results in partial silence and segments that cut out badly

I'm currently having an issue with the Windows 11 Camera app. I record video, but sound on the final product is partially silence, with segments of sound that cuts out. I have updated the microphone driver. I checked all of the standard settings according to various troubleshooting websites and videos. Ran the trouble-shooting program and tested the microphone at 100%. I made quite nice recordings just a few days ago, and they still play fine. I'm at a loss and don't find discussions that help on this particular issue.I'm very grateful for help.

    :)

  2. Windows Camera app not recording sound

I have been trying to record video using the Windows Camera app (Windows version 1909), but no sound gets recorded. The default audio input device is the microphone in my webcam, and the audio preferences for Camera are set to default. I was able to use the same setup yesterday to have a Skype conversation with audio capture. I have tried replaying the video recorded in the Camera app in VLC, but there is no sound there either, so the problem is definitely with recording rather than playback. Why doesn't the Camera app record sound?

Identify file name(s) associated with chkdsk corrupt file record segments

    I have a Dell XPS15, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Windows 10.

The following are the results from CHKDSK read-only:

Since it cannot continue, does that imply that there may be additional existing errors?

My understanding is that CHKDSK /R will recover 'READABLE' information.
So, before I run chkdsk /r, is there any way to identify the filename(s) associated with:

    • file 7ADAE
    • file record segment 1003F
    • file record segment 21D8F
    • file record segment 74337
    • file record segment 74CF5

Once I identify the filenames I plan on restoring them from a recent backup after running
    `chkdsk /r.

    Audio Recording

    Hi rakeshmaheshwari,

Lots of good apps if you want to perform an audio recording, including OneNote. However, if it is a long speech, I'd suggest breaking it up into smaller recording segments.

Otherwise, you can search the Windows Phone store for
    Audio Recording apps
    .

Another suggestion would be to video record it using the built-in Windows Phone camera.

    I hope this helps!
