Windows 10: Camera app permission required

When I opened the camera app, it told me to allow permission to the camera and microphone. Therefore, I granted permission to the app in the settings. However, when I am back in the camera app, it still tells me that the app requires permission to camera and microphone AGAIN.


When I opened Zoom/Skype to test my video camera, they all show a completely black screen. However, I can see that the camera is working on other computers using Windows I just plug the USB camera in and it automatically worked for other computers


May I know how to solve this issue?

App Permissions

Some apps require certain permissions to work properly. However, you can change the permissions given to the apps by following the below steps:

1. Click on Start.
   
2. Click on Settings and then click on Privacy.
   
3. Under the App Permissions you can change the permissions which are assigned for the apps.
   

However, you can go through the
Microsoft Privacy Statement.

camera not working

If you have the camera connected to the computer, I would suggest that you disconnect the camera and then try to open the Camera app.



If the camera app opens, follow the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + C” from your keyboard to open “Charms bar”.
• Select “Settings” option.
• Select “Permissions” option.
• Turn on “Allow this app to access your: Webcam and Microphone” option.
• Lose the app by pressing “Alt key + F4” from your keyboard.
• Reopen the Camera app.
• Connect your camera and then check how this app works.

Windows Phone Apps Privacy and Permissions

The Flashlight app and Stop the music app are easy to explain.

The Flashlight app requires camera access and having camera access assumes you are going to store a picture, which would require media library access.

The Stop the music app adds content to the now playing list (or in this case, nothing to clear it) so it again requires media library access.

The developers do not determine what permissions they get. These are automatically determined by the application manifest and the API calls used by the app. The list of permissions is automatically generated and cannot by modified by developers.
