Camera app, taking a picture results in PhotoCaptureStartTimeout, recording video works fine?

I'm encountering a strange problem on my Surface Go Pentium 4415Y - 8GB ram running Windows 10 Home 21H1 - build 19043.1052.If I open up the Windows Camera app the cam turns on and my webcam is working fine both front and back. However, when I click the 'take a picture' button the button freezes for about 10 seconds and then the error "0xA00F4292 <PhotoCaptureStartTimeout>" appears.I'm running the Camera app version 2021.105.10.0I should note that recording a video in the same app works fine. The problem only occurs when I try to take a picture both for the front and back camera.

    :)

  2. Camera not recording video

    Hi,

The problem is the Camera app in my laptop is not recording video. When I click on the video icon it seems like it starts to record but instantly stops and no video is recorded. I can take pictures just fine.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Logitech C920 takes photos but won't record video

In the Windows 10 camera app, I can take photos (and documents and whiteboards) but it won't record video.

The computer is getting a perfect moving picture from the camera, but when I select "take video" the image freezes and it won't record.

Has anyone else experienced this? There is plenty of advice available for cameras that don't work at all, but none for ones that work a bit!

    Thanks

  4. Camera app, taking a picture results in PhotoCaptureStartTimeout, recording video works fine?

    windows camera 0xa00f4292 <PhotoCaptureStartTimeout>

I have a Dell Latitude 5290 2-in-1 tablet. The only way I can use the Windows Camera App for still pictures is to turn on HDR. If HDR is off (by default), I will get and error: (windows camera 0xa00f4292 <PhotoCaptureStartTimeout>). Is there a way to set
the HDR to be on by default (in app or a registry edit)? I have updated the driver for the camera and reset the app. I do not have any problems taking a video.
