Windows 10: Camera colour balance - since the default app can't change it, what else can I do?

My camera shows me as SUPER orange, i believe it is because the walls in my room are orange. The default camera app has no settings that can help me colour balance. Is there any external software I can download that could replace the default camera app with editing features so that I don't look like the frickin Lorax on my zoom calls?

808 - white balance problem

This problem STILL exists!



Just to recap and recount the issue as I see it:



The white balance presets 'Incandescent' and 'Florescent' do not work in either photos or video. Both seem to simply act like white balance is set to auto.



Steps to reproduce:



* start camera

* go to creative mode

* chose a creative preset (1-3) and reset it

* select 'Incandescent' or 'Florescent' white balance preset

* point camera at something light brown and you'll see the colour begin to wash out towards blue

* quickly move camera to something white and you'll see the colour change from blue to white



The last two points above indicate that the presets are being ignored completely and the camera is using auto white balance.



This really causes problems when trying to film indoors.

Windows Apps Colour

I have updated my windows 10 to Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363. After updating some windows apps like Camera, Photos, Alarms and Clocks, etc. these apps got new icon and a 'default blue' background.
Even after changing my personlization settings to Red colour Windows Apps do not change their background colour to Red. This never happend before updating the apps. As you can see in the following image Photos app, Calendar app, Camera app do not change their
background colour from default blue to red help me to change their colour to red ( or any colour I want ).

 

How to change default app for file type

'Open With > Choose another app' has three step, in the first it only offers apps registered for that file type. If you click 'More apps' it lists all registered apps regardless of suitability. Both these steps have the tick-box for 'Always use...' in my 18363.752. The third step, if needed, is 'Look for another app on this PC'. The 'Always use...' must be ticked before taking this step if you want the change to stick. However, WMP appears at the second step.

For a quick look at a JPG almost anything (including WMP) is more practical than Photos which on my system takes more than ten seconds just to open a photo. The OP is probably not aware that the Windows Photo Viewer is still available in W10, but hidden away. That's my default viewer for JPG.
