Windows 10: Camera Not Working <nocamerasareattached>

It's been awhile since i have turn on my old laptop. Now that i am working from home, i want to use this old laptop of mine beside my work laptop. After turning the laptop on, i explored around and realize that the camera is not working. It shows error code 0xa00f4244 nocamerasareattached. I had this laptop for 4 years now, could it be a hardware issue?

Camera stopped working

My camera worked fine a few days ago. Now I get an error that says 'NoCamerasAreAttached'. It is also not listed in Device Manager. What can I do to get it back?

Hello,

I have a Lenovo Yoga 920 for ~2 years now.

The internal camera was working for some time, and stopped working last year with the message 0XA00F4244 NoCamerasAreAttached.

The camera is not there in the device manager, even viewing hidden devices.

There is no physical switch, but there is a key-combination to disable / enable the camera, but it does not work as well (shows camera is always off).

I worked with Lenovo tech support, and they replaced all (cables, camera) in 4 different technician visits, checked drivers, bios - nothing worked. The last step is to replace the motherboard or replace the laptop itself,
which I am reluctant to do at this point, but may need to go there. This is similar to re-install Windows, and I just don't like the idea - but maybe this is what I need to do?

I tried everything suggested:

Reset the app

Registry settings

Remove USB drivers

Check & disable AV, check & disable firewalls

Check privacy

Check bios & Lenovo drivers (no updates in last year)

I cannot check in Device Manager as the camera is not shown there

As I follow the posts, I see that this is not a Lenovo issue and reported on HP, Dell, Asus and others. My guess is that this is a Microsoft Windows 10 issue. I do not want to downgrade to Windows 8, just does not make
sense.

Other ideas before I reset the laptop, reinstall Windows and lastly just replace the laptop before warranty runs out?

Can Microsoft fix it for all of us needed camera badly these days?
