Windows 10: Camera Raw Codec download - Windows 10

Why is it so hard to let camera raw codec and photo viewer run on this POS windows 10, Nobody wants your new viewer, no its not better. This has been an ongoing issue and Microsoft refuses to comment as to why their previous versions did what we wanted and that we want back but can't get. Is my only possible way to get want I want after buying you NEW software is downgrade to Windows 7 or 8 and then upgrade back to 10 again, because if that's the case, I am done. After supporting Microsoft since the start, this issue ends our relationship. I have photopshop, lightroom, on1 raw 2018, dxo pro and canon dp but can not view a raw thumbnail thats really a jpeg BS

Microsoft Camera Codec for Windows 10

Windows 10 doesn't have a universal codec that works with all types of camera RAW files. Note that each device, such as cameras has different device formats. So, we suggest that you get in touch with Canon Support and ask what Codec Pack they can suggest.

Windows Camera Raw Codec pack

Dear sir,

I just purchased a Canon 6D Mk II. With my former camera Canon 6d I could open the .CR2 raw files using Windows 10 Photo app but now with the new camera I can't open them. Is Microsoft going to update the Raw Codec Pack to allow that to happen?? Sure

Will Windows 10 support Camera Raw files

Your answer doesn't make any sense. RAW is not an Adobe thing. It's a lossless image file used by digital cameras.

For previous versions of Windows you could download the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack to get RAW support for most cameras. There's even a version for Windows 8.1. But I can't find a download for Windows 10.
