Windows 10: Camera turns black when I switch from camera to video

Need to do a video interview and I have followed the steps to allow access through the privacy tabs and when I click "camera" it is a live picture of me but when I select the icon to "switch to video" it goes black. It still has the little box I guess that is supposed to frame the area but no image. I'm new to this so any help that walks me through n the simplest way possible would be appreciated. Thank you.

Camera App doesn't work properly after turn camera permission off and on

Hi,

I am using Microsoft LiveCam Cinema (Modle 1393) on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with Windows 10 Pro.

When I used built-in Camera App, I tried to turn off Camera permission, I noticed that the preview will freeze.

When I turned on Camera permission, the camera still didn't work.

Only when I switched the camera to built-in camera, Camera App will work. But when I switch camera back to LiveCam, that camera still didn't work, I can only see black screen.

When I tried the same step to the built-in camera, the built-in camera worked. Switch back didn't have black screen.

My questions are:

Is this because the LiveCam camera is too old? not fit for windows 10? where can I find a list of camera that can support win10?

Follow steps in the article linked to in Post #9 step 1.

To apply the registry files just double click on each one.

This is my camera app, the switch cameras button is there in the middle, and both cameras work:

 

Change the camera that the Windows 10 camera app uses.

Unintuitively, the icon in the upper left that looks like it's meant to switch between your front and back camera will also cycle through your other attached cameras. At least, this worked for me on a Surface Pro 4 (front and rear camera) with a USB Microsoft LifeCam attached. The Camera application's version is listed as 2018.227.30.1000.
