Windows 10: Camera visible but not working

My webcam is a printer now?

This issue started about 2ish months ago were my webcam just disappeared one day and was replaced by my printer, my printer still works, but not the camera. edit: My microphone just went out too!

If you have the camera connected to the computer, I would suggest that you disconnect the camera and then try to open the Camera app.



If the camera app opens, follow the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + C” from your keyboard to open “Charms bar”.
• Select “Settings” option.
• Select “Permissions” option.
• Turn on “Allow this app to access your: Webcam and Microphone” option.
• Lose the app by pressing “Alt key + F4” from your keyboard.
• Reopen the Camera app.
• Connect your camera and then check how this app works.

Camera not working! error code: 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5)"

I have a Lenovo and was experiencing the same problem. Camera Not Working and Unable to find Camera in device manager list.

I tried all the suggestions in the above email. No Luck!. Also spent countless hours researching community forums and articles, and suggested solutions. Nothing!!

Finally I noticed a "camera" icon on one of the function keys at the top of my keyboard. So, I pressed it while holding down the Fn key. Surprise Surprise - it turned on my webcam and it also became visible on my device listing.

Suck a simple solution, but not mentioned anywhere. Glad I don't do this for a living.
