Windows 10: Can a game disc transmit viruses?

Apologies if this is a stupid question.


I purchased The Sims: Life Stories a few years ago, second-hand, online from a trusted buy & sell website. The game disc looks like the retail version. When I purchased the game and installed it, my disc drive began to stop reading discs, and eventually stopped doing so entirely. The disc drive needed to be replaced, however I am unsure if it was caused by a virus, or just age it was 4-5 years old at this point. Is it possible that the former owner had an affected computer which placed a virus on the disc? If so, is there a way to tell if the game files have been modified?

Disc for windows 7 to run on windows 10

I suggest you to follow the below steps to read the Windows 7 disc and check if it helps.

• Insert Windows 7 disc.
• Press “Windows+E” which will open file explorer.
• There you will find the Windows 7 disc.
• Open the disc and copy the files anywhere on your computer, so that you can access the information from the disc.
