Windows 10: Can a Thinkpad p14s gen 3 amd use a razor core x chroma egpu

I have a core x chroma with an radeon rx 6700xt and a p14s gen 3, the Thinkpad is not connnecting to the egpu. I am using a good power supply for both laptop and egpu, I am also using a thunderbolt cable. The Thinkpad notifies me thunderbolt is limited when I connect the egpu.Thanks for any ideas.

How do you get an egpu running through a USB4 port @40Gps?

I'm trying to get a RAZER CORE X CHROMA with an RTX4070 in it to connect with a MINISFORUM UM690 small form factor pc. The USB4 port is listed as supporting 40Gps and I did get it to boot up the graphics card once and could see the fans on the card spinning for about 3 minutes with the RGB illuminated, then I switch it off assuming it worked. But since then I cannot get the graphics card to boot up, if I turn the computer off and on again and plug in the egpu with the graphics card in it, it boots the card for a second then the card knocks off and my device doesn't even recognize the Razer Core as a USB hub.

I can get the UM690 to recognize the RAZER CORE X CHROMA without the RTX4070 in it, with the RAZER CORE only used as a USB hub but put a graphics card in and nothing works. Any ideas anyone?

 

My Thinkpad P14s laptop is showing 8 RAM slots on Task Manager. while in reality, it is only 1 slot soldered onboard + 1 slot user-upgradable! ThinkPad p14s showing 8 slots of RAM!

but this link you shared is for ThinkPad 14s gen2 and my machine is ThinkPad p14s gen3!

Yep, same updates failing here. Clean installed ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 AMD
