Windows 10: Can a USB be used to restore a bios?

So, I decided to update my laptops bios using my oem's support tool.The bios itself had never been updated beforeit's a laptop from either 2014 or 15I think, it could be 16, and thankfully everything went well and it works.I do have a question though.While beginning the bios installusing the tool, it also has an option to create a bios recovery USB.So, if something like a virus infected it, or the install just didn't go right, would I be able to use the media and restore the bios back to a default stateor essentially reinstall it?

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect


In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.

1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination
   
   
   
4. Proceed to restore then Shutdown and disconnect the old HD and replace with the new HD
5. Boot up with your new HD.

USB boot for bios update

Did the first step. It already doesn't work. Note the capacities and drive letters M:/N: The HP utility is about to format my raid-1 volume containing my 2 750gb drives. It thinks it's the usb stick. I can not select any other drives in the HP utility. My 512mb usb stick is U:.

Any other suggestions?
