Windows 10: Can a windows update break my laptop?

I installed two new windows update on November 17, 2023. A few hours later, my laptop got the blue screen error. Ever since then, my laptop no longer notifies me when the battery is low. It used to notify me when it hits 20%. Now it'll notify me below 20% and a few seconds after the notification, the laptop shuts down before I could charge it. Plugging in the laptop will also remove 10% of the battery and cause it to shutdown. Restarting the laptop now also removes 50% of the battery. I just uninstalled the update and immediately reinstalled it again because I fear that it would just make my l

Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
