Windows 10: can anyone help, cant re activate windows after a motherborad upgrade

Can anyone help, i was activated digitally from an old windows 7 copy that i dont have any more,. Ive been activated on this windows install since 2015 or so. microsoft support are absolulty usless. One told me i would have to buy a new key, the other told me ot upgrade the os to the latest win 10 , but it fails.

When i run the troubleshooter i dont get the option of selecting a hardware change.



Upgraded my board, cpu and ram and 2nd hdd, now im going insane.

When i go into my email account, under devices, i see 2 entries for this pc. One with my old board and one with the new one.

Cant log into XP untill re-activated

So far this has happened twice to me. When i changed the motherboard, processor, ram and vga in these two systems, i was greeted with the "need to re-activate" windows window. Which is fine with me, but the stupid part is that you need to log in to change your network drivers (for your new mobo) so you can re-activate windows. But windows wont let you log in until you re-activate windows... which requires intrenet.... Anyone know a way arround this so i dont have to completely reload windows. *Confused

• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.

Help, cant create windows image

It seems like some sort of an OS confusion has happened with your secondary WD Black and I'm sorry to hear about that. *Frown
Maybe re-formatting it would help indeed as the community already mentioned. I'd suggest to take a look at this step-by-step how to partition and format an HDD: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=PYCoid
Keep in mind that this will wipe clean the drive, so you should backup all important data from the drive somewhere else.
I noticed from the screenshots that your HDD appears as Disk 0, this means that it's plugged in the primary SATA port where the SSD (as an OS drive) should be. Actually it is possible that because of this Windows cannot create the image there. Swap the ports of the SSD and the HDD, this might help as well.
