Can anyone please help me figure out what is causing my built in defender app to block me out.

O.k. I'm starting to pull my hair out a bit. I'm not real savvy, but I can usually figure most things out. I have been at this for hours with no avail. My defender deleted a file I was working with and when I went to go allow it I received this error. At least I think it's an error since Microsoft defenders is built in. So I go look up issue and delete my malware, through out this process I have deleted every app I had that even looks like an AV Windows 11 manager, Ashampoo Winoptimizer, Glary malware, VPN, etc.. However not immediately, when that failed I searched and found someone suggest

Windows Defender Blocking Installations of Downloaded Apps

    Hi Craig,

There's a possibility that the SmartScreen option is on that's why you're unable to install downloaded apps. Let's try to turn it off and see if it helps. See the steps below:

    • Open Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
    • Click on the App and browser control button on the left side of the window.
    • Click on Off in the Check apps and files section.

Let us know if the suggestion helps you out.
