  1. Can apps and games be added to Microsoft Family Screen Time settings?

I am trying to add screen time restrictions for all apps/games/programs on my Windows computer but the list is nowhere near comprehensive. Am I able to add programs to the Screen Time section of Microsoft Family, so I can manage their usage?

  2. Family Safety screen time stuck on old settings

    • I set up family safety settings under windows 8.
    • Configured screen time options to for only daytime, so as to prevent my son from using the computer too early or too late in the day.
    • I've upgraded the computer to Windows 10 (live update, not a fresh install).
    • Now I want to change the screen time settings for my son. Nothing I have attempted (short of clean install of Windows) has worked.
      • Changing time settings doesn't work
      • Turning off Screen Time doesn't help
      • Removing/Adding his account from family safety doesn't help
      • Removing/Adding the computer from family safety doesn't help
    • I don't see a Windows Family Safety service running on the machine, which is odd.
    • I really don't want to do a fresh Windows install.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

Microsoft Family Safety - screen time

    Hey there!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, an Independent Advisor. No worries, let me help you sort this out.

According to the Microsoft official website, it is possible to set the screen time for any apps and games. Here's how:

Visit family.microsoft.com. Sign into your Family Safety account.

Find your family member’s name and click More options > Screen time.

Select Apps and games tab. Turn on App and game limits toggle.

Click the app or game you want to set limits on.

Set the amount of time your family member can spend on the app or game each day and when they’re allowed to use it. Use the same limits every day or tailor a schedule for each day of the week.

You may see an app or game listed more than once if your family member installed it on multiple devices. This is temporary until the data is processed. In the meantime, you can set a limit for each listing of the app or game.
