Windows 10: Can find no remedy to redo this pc through bootable USB and Media Creation Tool

I have an older HP All In One Pc. It started years ago as a win 8 but quickly went to win 10 and has been 10 for a number of years. Somehow I messed with it in a way just recent that it didn't like and for the first time in over 30 years on pc's I can't find a remedy to get it back. I have pulled myself and pc's out of many jams and issues over the years. Stuck on this one however I've tried all the Recovery options many times. When it goes into Auto Repair it reports it can not. So I took the next step and made a bootable USB with Media Creation. Went into the BIOS and changed the boot order.

Media Creation Tool question

Thanks Cerberus but Ive no problem downloading the Iso with the media creation tool. I don't think its the ISO that is the problem' I think the problem is when the Media Creation Tool is creating the bootable USB flash drive. So I think I can use the Media Creation Tool for that part...and as you say try something like Rufus to create the bootable USB flash drive

I still have this question though "The tutorial here says after going to the Microsoft site and selecting the Download Tool (Media Creation Tool) option that the Media Creation Tool should be save to the PC and run from there.
On Microsoft site the instructions are to Download the Tool and select Run (no saving to the PC). Is there a reason for saving it to the PC first as suggested on Tenforums?"

I was curious to see if others had encountered the issue I had with the Media Creation Tool. Ive never had a problem using it before

 

Cannot create recovery drive or bootable usb using media creation tool

I have a Surface 4 and I am attempting to make a recovery drive and/or a bootable USB using media creation tool.

I have been searching the web and I have tried:

• sfc/scannow
• another USB drive

Any ideas what I can do? I have just completed this process on an older PC with no problems at all.

Download Windows 10 and check if you are able to create the bootable media.
