Windows 10: Can I activated my Windows Home English Edition with my Chinese Home addition product key?

So I've bought an Asus Zephyrus ROG 15 laptop in China with Chinese Home edition preinstalled on it with a product key. I went and installed an English windows 10 Home Demo version, not activated edition to change all the settings to English.My question is can I activate the English demo version with my Chinese home edition's product key? and what will happen if I do, will this change everything to Chinese again?

Activation, Product Keys and chinese tablets.

Why am I forced to pay $120 for a product key when my only mistake was upgrading android on a dual boot chinese tablet that did come with any product keys listed in the packaging??? This is so silly...the tablet only cost $200 in the first place and other
tablets are like$60 and have genuine activated windows....but you mess up the bios held key and all bets are off and you must pay MS $120 because you didn't buy hardware from a manufacturer with english support?? Why can't the activation servers require official
brand name, model, and serial that associates with each key so that MS can activate all these devices that don't ship with key documents??

This is just such a crock!! It's great they are doing Windows 10 upgrades free, but they need better support for activation issues on devices that are getting sold outside their home language markets.

 

Upgrade or change Windows 10 Home chinese edition to a normal Windows 10 Home

Not sure about what it should come installed with. But it came with Windows 10 Home Chinese Edition. So this is what I did to get this sorted out.

Step 1. Download the Media Tool as suggested.

Step 2. Create an ISO/USB drive with Windows 10 Home Single Language Pack by selecting the English Option

Step 3. Start the installation. Point to note to select get latest update during the installation else it will ask for a Key.

Step 4. Once the installation is done, the Surface is now in English and just follow the prompts till everything is running.

Step 5. Skip the part where it asks for the Key or wants to activate Windows

Step 6. Open Settings -> Update & Security -> Activation

Step 7. Check if the windows is activated or not. If not activated there will be an option to troubleshoot the activation issue.

Step 8. Windows will automatically activated the Surface to the correct Edition.

If you want to change the language on your computer from Chinese to English, then you need to install the language pack of your preferred language. To do that, follow these easy steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Time & language, then click
  Region & language.
  
• Under Languages, click Add a language, then select
  English.

In case it is still showing in Chinese language, you can follow these other steps below:

• Press Windows key + X on the keyboard, then select Control Panel.
• Go to Clock, Language, and Region, then select Language.
  
• Next, click Advanced settings, then under Override for Windows display language, you will get the language option to select.
