Switching between English, Hiragana and Katakana inputs in Windows10.

I have been studying Japanese online, making notes and flash cards on my laptop. In Windows 7, the toggle between English, Hiragana and Katakana was complicated enough, often wondered why you have to know which input you are currently in to predict the results
of one of the multiple key strokes used. Shouldn't there be a way to reach English with one combo, Hiragana with another and Katakana with third regardless of which input mode you are currently in?

Now I upgraded to Windows 10, the system is similar, but now youget 日本, kanji symbol for Japan, in the task bar, but no way of telling before you start typing, whether you get Hiragana, Katakana or the Romaji input for Japanese text. Sure, sometimes,
yes, sometimes, a little cloud appears at the cursor, showing a letter in one of those inputs. Even worse, the computer sometimes switches from my Google Japanese to Microsoft Japanese, I guess result of my fumble finger typing.

Just curious, there must be a reason, why windows and google chose such a complicated system?

Windows 11: How can I Change IME shortcuts. Currently can't change from hiragana to katakana using shortcut

    Hello,

I need some help and have some suggestions around IME and input methods.

I would love to be able to have a shortcut for katakana and hiragana or a toggle between them.

Currently in windows 11 it seems there is no way to create this shortcut.

    ` (tilde key)

    Caps Lock

    And Alt+Tab for some reason

*All of the above have the functionality of toggling input methods.

` makes the most sense in its behavior as it toggles to 1 input method of your choosing. However, it is impossible to change both sides of the toggle as alpha-numeric-halfwidth will always be switched back automatically to one of the sides. Meaning you can only either toggle to katakana or hiragana not both.

Ideal behavior in the current system, would be to toggle between 2 input methods of your choosing.

However additionally it would be extremely useful to have these as custom shortcuts. Because there seems to be conflicting information on what the shortcuts even are.

Also, the option to disable the unnecessary shortcuts like alt tab and caps lock.

Thanks, I would appreciate any help Can I automatically switch user input method from fullwidth katakana to halfwidth hiragana... :)
