Hi, I just want to ask if anybody knows why my pc makes me sign in and create a new PIN every time it downloads an update. Its very annoying since it updates at least once a month and sometimes more often than that. When I shut down it tells me there is an update and has me install it before it shuts down. Once I turn it back on the next day or something it wants me to sign into my account again and makes me choose a new PIN. I really don't like having to do this repeatedly. Do we even have an option to stop this? Thanks...

Using Pin to sign on continues to fail

I will surely help you to fix this issue.

This issue could have occurred due to corrupt User Account.

I suggest you to create a new User Account and try to create a PIN for it. Check if you can login to that User Account using PIN.

To create a new User Account follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Click on Settings.
• Type ‘Add, delete and manage other user accounts’ in search box.
• Now click on ‘Add someone else to this pc’.
• And follow the instructions to create a new User Account.

Why doesn't my pin work with the anniversary edition?

We would like to know more about the issue. Before you had the Anniversary Update, were you using an 8-digit PIN?

For the meantime, we suggest that you remove the current PIN and create a new PIN. You can do that by following these steps:

• Select the Start button, type Settings, and select it from the list of results.
  
• Choose Accounts.
  
• Select Sign-in options.
  
• Under PIN, select Remove.
  

After you have deleted your current PIN, create a new 4-digit PIN by following these steps:

• Select the Start button, type Settings, and select it from the list of results.
• Choose Accounts.
• Select Sign-in options.
• Under PIN, select Add.

Once you have created your new 4-digit PIN, restart your computer and sign-in using the new 4-digit PIN.

Note: It is very important that you remove then create a new PIN rather than changing the current PIN.

Can't create pin for login. Pin stopped working

Try the steps here:

• Navigate to PC Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options. Click on I forgot my PIN link.
• Next, click on the Continue button in the Are you sure you forgot your PIN? screen.
• You can now add a new PIN and click OK.
