Windows 10: Can i change my linked windows digital key to another hard drive?

Hello!I need to install a new hard drive SSD on my laptop. The old one is a hard disk with big storge.I want to put the operating system win10 on the SSD to make my device faster and use* the old one as a storge. I bought my HP laptop there in 2019 comes with installed windows but i just have the store receipt and no box or a sticker with the windows key on the laptop. In the setting, the activation status is 'activated with a digital license linked to your MS account'.Ok, so what i need to do now? how to transfer my win key to a new hard drive?*I have to do that and also know what my ke

Partitioning Hard Drives to run windows and linux

Hi All,

I have a tower with two hard drives. Until now I have been running windows on the first drive and using the second drive as backup. Now I reformatted the backup drive and installed Fedora Core. The installation was successful but how do I get the computer to boot from that drive? I'm in the BIOS and I see where the windows-platform drive is listed as my primary. I scrolled up to this line in the BIOS and tried pressing the spacebar, the return key, the left and right arrows but nothing will change the windows drive to the linux drive.

Can anyone tell me precisely and specifically how to make this change? Help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for posting back.

• How are you connecting the Hard drive to your computer?
• Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a different computer and check if it works?

It's possible that your USB drivers are corrupt. I suggest you to try the following steps and check.

• Press Windows Key +R and type
  devmgmt.msc to open Device manager.
• Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
  at the left bottom.
• Right-click the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click on
  Uninstall to remove it.
• Repeat these steps for the entire USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
• Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
