  1. can i change security setting for files?

I'm having a problem and it all started how that I have windows 10, boy I sure do miss Windows XP. Anyways every folder every file all read (read only) ok not everyone, there are files that I just made that are not read protected (wait for it) until I try moving them then for some reason straight to read only, how can that be? I'm glad I never had this problem when I was attending online college. Ok back to problem, so I cant move a lot of things from my pc to say a flash drive, such as all movies that I have downloaded. All I want to do is free up some space on my laptop. Now I have been able to move some of them which is strange, why am I able to move some but not all. So as I was moving about 50G of movies all of a sudden everything comes to a holt, and I start getting these messages saying unable to move read protected. So I look at my files and folder properties and everyone has a check or mark in the read only box, I have tried to remove it but no luck so I go to another of my laptops and same thing, go to my backup computer and what do you know same thing. I go to control panes no help there try to change admin policy no luck, tried to add new user cant do it get sent to Microsoft to add a member. So can anyone give me some good advice on what I can do, o yea also tried changing read protected in 365 word and power point with no luck.

here is what I'm using, just so you don't have to assume.

first of course Windows 10 (which was forced on me like a lot of people)

PC's and laptops, Acer, Toshiba, and HP

Flash drives, SanDisk, Lexar, and Hitachi

I look forward to any help anyone can give me, I hope there is an answer out there and that won't cost me a arm and a let to use to fix my problem.

    :)
