Windows 10: Can I change the display of the groups in the ribbon?

Hi, all - Sorry if this has already been asked before, but if it has, I can't find a thread about it.My laptop recently updated to the latest version of Word on Windows 10 in the last week or two. Since then, I haven't been able to easily access most of the selections in the groups in the top ribbon.For instance, I use "Styles" all the time to fix spacing issues between lines, but the options aren't visible to me anymore. Meanwhile, I can clearly see tabs for "Adobe Acrobat," "Voice," and "Editor," none of which I ever use. Here's what the ribbon should properly look like I explain where I go

How to Change the Group by View of a Folder in Windows 10 tutorial

The delay to reply was unrelated to this topic. I was preparing to add a disc drive. The preferred view is working now, and here is the step by step list of what I did, and it includes an additional step at the end. I also rebooted after each step.

1. Reset all views to default.
2. Rebooted.
3. Changed the "My Pc" view to Details and set the "Group By" to [None]. But left everything else at default.
4. Rebooted.
5. "My Pc" view retained the selected setting, alphabetically ordered "Details" without grouping.
6. Switched to Drive C:\, set it to "Details" and changed the column order to "Name, Size Type and Date". Grouping is available but not applied by the default settings.
7. Rebooted.
8. "My Pc" lost the settings, reverted to "Tile" and "Group by" was active again.
9. Reconfigured to "Details" and set the "Group By" to [None].
10. Rebooted.
11. "My Pc" view retained the selected settings. Alphabetically ordered "Details" without grouping.

File Explorer Ribbon or Tool Bar

We understand that you want to keep the ribbon open in File Explorer.

There are ways on how to achieve this. Here are some of it. Kindly check the methods below:

Hide or show the Ribbon using a Registry tweak

• Open Registry Editor.
• Go to the following key:
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
  
  If this key does not exist, just create it.
• Create or modify the 32-bit DWORD value named ExplorerRibbonStartsMinimized. explorerribbonstartsminimized
  
  Note: Even if you are running 64-bit Windows you must still create a 32-bit DWORD value.
  • To start Explorer with the Ribbon always minimized, set the ExplorerRibbonStartsMinimized value data to 3.
  • To start Explorer with the Ribbon always maximized, set it to 4. Delete the ExplorerRibbonStartsMinimized parameter to restore the default behavior.
  • Delete the ExplorerRibbonStartsMinimized parameter to restore the default behavior.

Using a Group Policy tweak, you can force Explorer to always start with the Ribbon minimized.

• Press Win + R keys together on your keyboard.
• The Run box will appear. Type the following in the Run box and then press Enter:
  • gpedit.msc
• In the left pane of Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following path:
  • User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ File Explorer
• Now locate the setting called Start File Explorer with Ribbon minimized in the right pane and double click it. The policy configuration window will open.
• Set the option to the "Enabled" state and pick the option below it which is suitable for you.
