Windows 10: can i change windows 10 legacy to uefi and mbr to gpi

can i change windows 10 legacy to uefi and mbr to gpi.

i have a few programs, but they say i have to change the bios to uefi, how do i do that.

Back from UEFI to Legacy

MBR is better.

Just as secure as UEFI.

Less issues installing Windows in Legacy.

If you want to use disk Encryption, then stay with UEFI. But most all people do not use this.

I have not ever seen or heard of any evidence that MBR is not secure & UEFI is.

My personal, Business PC's have never been intruded using Legacy MBR.

Use a firewall & Virus protection and you are good.

Stay off suspicious websites.

do not open junk or suspicious emails

But you will only be permitted 2TB Hard Drive max size for MBR Legacy installs.

Not a real big deal though.

You have to enter the start up options & select Boot Settings.

Then you have to navigate to the screen to change from UEFI to Legacy

Make sure to set your boot order.

CD/DVD #1 (or) USB

C:\ Drive (OS) #2

??? #3

??? #4

 

Legacy to UEFI boot

Hi HY0365, 1709 and 1803 can be loaded onto either UEFI or Legacy BIOS - GPT or MBR.

I have 1709 loaded in Legacy BIOS mode as I like to have more control if and when Windows 10 has problems . ..

Windows Setup: Installing using the MBR or GPT partition style for a comprehensive guide to reformat your hard disk to boot it to a UEFI mode.

The option to "Boot the PC to the DVD or USB key in UEFI mode" is also provided there.

Make sure that you use the same USB drive which already matched the edition of Windows 10 for your computer.
