    Can I change Windows Settings, Default Programms in Powershell?


    Good Morning everyone
    I'm currently working on a WDS and I would like to automate as much as possible. I created a customize Userprofile (sysprep it and saved it on WDS-Server) thanks to a Tutorial on this Website and many of the changes I made were saved *Biggrin. I would like to realize a Powershell-Script that solves the settings that weren't kept by Windows during sysprep. Of course I can change this all by hand (that would be done in a few minutes *Wink, but a Script would be nice, if even possible.

    What I coun't solve so far are:
    • How to change Default Browser change to IE
    • How to change the Default Programm for PDF
    • Change Windows Setting (see picture of German Setting of Data Protection)
    • Change the Starting Page in Windows Edge
    So far I searched for several hours tried out many things, but *Sick *Rolleyes couldn't find a real solution.
    Can you help me?

    How to set default programs in Windows 10

    How do I set Maple as a default programme when it does not appear in the list of programmes, even though its .exe file appears under Program Files in the directories Maple15 and Maple16.

    Failing that how do I set a default programme for .mw files when this extension does not appear in the list, even thought it is a valid extension for Maple programmes.

    Running Powershell for setting default programs


    This worked. How would you setup the dism command to be used in an MDT task sequence step?
    Or is there a way to convert this to Powershell and run in an MDT task sequence.
    I would like to have defaults set as part of the imaging process for new machines.

    Choosing Default Apps & Insider Programme

    To resolve your concern, kindly choose the default apps by file type. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
    • Click the gear icon (Settings).
    • Choose System.
    • Select Default apps.
    • Click Choose default apps by file type.
    • Check all of the video file type, and then check if you can change the default app to your preferred application.
    After performing the steps, kindly share with us the result
