Windows 10: can i disable a single auto update in windows 10 preview?

Ok after i keep fixing my switchable graphics microsoft keep coming along and messing it up again by auto updating with wrong drivers!

in the update list i see the wrong AMD video driver and i cant stop it from installing

so ultimately i had to disable automatic drivers update in system settings. but that means that i cant get any updates ether. can i disable or hide one update like before in windows 8.1 % down?
i see that the non metro windows update windows is gone now...

As per your query, I would like to tell you that; Auto arrange feature is not available in Windows 10.

Auto Arrange only applies to the desktop
Icons / Folders, since that is the only Icons / Folders that you can place anywhere on the Desktop.

Can I disable auto arrange in folders in Win 10 like I was able to do in Win XP? If not I have no choice other than to not use 10. I am running Win 7 but it looks like Microsoft has absolutely no intention of correcting this and other oversights like not
being able to disable full line select and several other issues I have seen addressed by numerous people in forums. I guess we have to take it the way Microsoft wants it. Not the way we used to be able to have it.

Try 'Roll Back Driver' in Device Manager and see if it sticks.

 

I read that in a future build MS is going to allow us to choose what driver updates to install.

If you like, you could use the tutorial below to add Windows Update back to the Control Panel.

Afterwards, you can open Windows Update, and hide this update to no longer have it available to install until the next new release.

Thanks -- This stopped my Sound drivers from getting updated and after update failed to work. Good workaround -- that's always a problem when stuff is made TOO simple - it gets a nightmare to fix if something doesn't work properly.

what happened to the link? it says i dont have permission to access. i need that again i dirty upgraded to windows 10 build 10041 and i need to re enable the old windows update.

 

You can no longer reinstate the old windows update in 10041 - the old workaround is redundant.

 

If you have build 10041 installed, it will still add Windows Update to the Control Panel, but it will also break Windows Update in both the Settings and Control Panel locations. It will just give you an error when trying to use Windows Update.

Win10 Build 10130 locks the registry keys for changing it so you have to find a way to unlock it cause I haven't.

The following key enables the dropdown with a catch(you have to update!).

If you don't want automatic updates try this key if you can't figure out a workaround:
Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update] "AUOptions"=dword:00000004 ;1=never check for updates ;4=default[/quote] You can add them manually or put them in a *.reg file together.
To manually add them use win+r and type regedit and navigate
to the places and make the keys and values.
Remember Keys are like Folders and the rest is like files.
