Windows 10: Can I disable "SmartAudio CPL (32 bit)" in Task Manager > Startup?

Good afternoon!


My startup on my laptop (ASUS Windows 10 PC) is slower than usual. I noticed I have "SmartAudio CPL (32 bit)" listed under the Startup tab in the Task Manager. It says it has a "high" impact on my startup. Everything else is low or disabled.


Can I disable SmartAudio without an affect on my sound? I care about audio quality so I don't want to disable anything important. I've never intentionally used the program but I don't know if it runs automatically whenever I play audio.


In case it matters, under the Details tab, SmartAudio.exe is one of my higher memory programs. It's listed as both "Running" and "Disabled," so I'm not sure if it's still running or already disabled?

Windows 8 task manager 32 Bit?

The OP says the programs say (32 bit) next to them, when in the old Task Manager they have *32 next to them and probably never noticed.

Oh, I thought it was saying taskmgr.exe *32 in Task Manager. XD

Yeah *32 is absolutely normal to see on 64-bit flavors of Windows. *32 means it is running in Windows (32-bit) On Windows 64-bit. They are being emulated. That's how it should be. *Smile

Most games are still 32-bit so they have more backwards compatibility (that will start to change soon though). Steam is only available in 32-bit as is Origin.

Upgraded to win 8 recently, noticed that everything in the task manager is reporting 32 bit (games, steam, origin ect) Is this normal, I do have the 64 bit version before you ask.
