Windows 10: Can I force the app bar to update programmatically?

I have a MFC based app that creates floating frame windows. When I do create one I use the WS_EX_APPWINDOW style so the frame window appears in the app bar. But, the OS doesn't always show the icon for the window right away. Usually it shows up but when it doesn't, I can "alt-tab" and the OS will tab thru all the apps including mine and it will let me tab to the new frame window I. At that point, the icon will show up in the app bar. I'm hoping to find some API I can call that will cause that icon to show up right away and consistently.

How to update Quick Access programmatically

Hi,

I use Google Drive and every time I restart Windows it auto-populates to File Explorer's Quick Access bar - which is annoying. I have started an inquiry with Google here -

Research:

• Why does Google Drive keep auto-populating ... (Google Support Forums)
  

I don't expect Google to provide this option to stop auto-populating, but ask in courtesy first.

Request:

• Is there a way to programmatically update File Explorer's Quick Access listing then instead?

Windows Store not updating existing apps but successfully downloads new apps

Hi,

In order to diagnose the issue, we suggest that you try the following methods:

Method 1: Kindly run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
To run it, follow the steps below:

• Click Start.
• On the search bar, type Troubleshooting, and click on
  Troubleshooting from the results.
• On the left pane, click View all.
• Click Windows Store Apps.

Method 2: We suggest that you manually reset the Windows Store app cache
and then try to update apps again. To manually reset, follow the steps below:

• Click Start.
• On the search bar, type CMD, and right-click CMD
  from the results.
• Click Run as administrator.
• Type wsreset, and press Enter.

After kb3081436 update Mail app force closes

I suggest you to try the following methods and check if issue is resolved.

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the Windows store app
troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Windows Store app.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

• Press Windows key + R key to open Run
