Windows 10: Can I go from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 Home version?

If I have a valid copy of Windows 7 Professional on my computer can I upgrade free to Windows 10 Home.

There are several people selling Windows 7 Professional on eBay for about $50, but I need the Home version so I can restore my fully configured Windows 10 Home from my primary computer to a brand new custom built backup computer.

Hi, I am Abaan and I am facing many problem in windows 10 so I wanted to go back to windows 7 home professional because as there are minor problem on windows 10 so I am going back to windows 7 home professional and there is a factory reset option (in computer
not windows) which can maybe d that but I have one question, will it go back to windows 7 home professional and will not reset windows 10??

I just Installed Windows 10... but few things work!!

After I installed Windows 10 from my reliable Windows 7 Home Professional, no much thinngs worked...no Edge, no Settings menu to reinstall my reliable windows 7 Home professional, I cannot start several apps, and I am not sure that my Mcafee is working!!
someone can help me on how ca I just Uninstall 10 and go back to 7 if Settings is not launching???

I just checked with Microsoft support and they said there would be no problem if Windows 7 is activated. Being Windows 7 Professional is no problem.

There will be a problem with a full restore. Windows 10 activation is tied to the MOBO. You could do a restore of settings, programs and data, but a full restore will end up deactivating the OS.

Well, I read what everybody had to say and decided to go for it! $49 for Windows 7 Professional. I think it will do what intended, but you guys will need to wait for the outcome because it's being sent snail mail and it will take about a week for it to get here. But I will post the outcome.

 

Let us know how it works out. Some of us regard copies of Windows sold on eBay with suspicion. (People have sold MSDN keys in the past.) I hope that you're getting a genuine retail version, or at least a System Builder one.

 

I do not anticipate trouble, but ebay says that they will deal with any misrepresentation personally.

 

You can't install Windows 7 Home with a Pro product key:

Nor can you upgrade Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 Home for free (and I don't think you can do it even with a purchased Windows 10 Home Product Key):
