Windows 10: Can I have 2 instances of Phone Link Open so I can connect and use 2 phones at once

I have 2 phones i want open at the SAME TIME in phone link. How to get them both to be useable at the same time.

'obtain the phone's ISP' = 'obtain the phone's IP' I assume

You can always connect it by USB to side-step the problem

To fix the problem:-
1 Get the IP from the phone MPE client's Settings page and tell MPE on the computer to use that.
2 Once you have successfully connected using that specific IP, change the computer's MPE, File, Settings, Connections back to AutoDetect and it will pick it up however you have it connected.

I have had to repeat this IP setting up after my phone has had an OS update so perhaps that's what has happened in your case as well.

Phone Link on Android

Hi Denis, my Phone Link got an update yesterday, before then I could have my phone, pc + router sitting together and when I opened the link on my pc it never connected. I don't know if it was the update or my changeing settings on my oppo A5 2020 but it connected. Will give your method a try. Thanks

 

My Phone Explorer will not connect

I have removed the last 2 items from sync. Since then the result has been much the same, connect via WiFi a few times but mostly does not connect. It has not connected via USB for a couple of days.

The MPE gadget (7 Gadget Pack / Sidebar Gadgets) is not the problem. It just provides on the Desktop an icon with a few functions, mainly Connect and Sync, but when that does not work I open and use the App itself. --- with the same erratic results.

Two oddites I have noticed is that when I get 'cannot connect the phone' and go to the Connect menue it shows the option to disconnect! How can I disconnect a phone which is already disconnected? The other oddity is that all the while I get told I cannot connect, it is plain from the behaviour of the phone that connection is taking place, if only for a moment.

Tomorrow, unless something prevents it, I intend to study your detailed suggestions fully, so I may report back on that.
