I noticed that indexing takes a long time. I wonder if there's a way to quickly index a folder quickly, such as if you notice that it's not correctly indexed (searches doesn't give expected results in File Explorer).

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

OneDrive no longer in list of folders to index in "Indexing Options"

Ref: Windows 10 Pro Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.48)

    Dear All,

After an Windows update today, OneDrive folder is no longer listed as a folder available for indexing in the "Indexing Options" control panel.

I have tried restarting, deleting the index, unlinking PC from OneDrive and relinking.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

By the way, why is the OneDrive Category locked when posting questions?!

Unable to open any files/folders using Search function on Windows 10

    Hi,

To resolve your concern about searching any files/folders with an index rebuild, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Go to Control Panel and find Indexing Options.
    • Under Indexing Options, make sure that Windows is indexing the location on which your files/folders are saved.
If the files are not listed like the Users folder (Documents and Desktop folders), you can manually add them.

    • Click Modify then you should see the list of all locations on your computer.
    • Find the desired drive or folder which contains the files you'd like to be indexed and check the box next to it.
    • Hit OK and you'll return to the Indexing Options.
NOTE: If you're not facing a total malfunction of Windows Search, you can quickly jump to
Indexing Options by searching from the Start Menu (Windows 7 and Windows 10) or the
Start Screen (Windows 8 and 8.1).

Let us know how it goes.
