Windows 10: Can i invert the fn key behavior of microsoft designer bluetooth (no bios option)

I'm a web developer and i occasionally need to press F5 to refresh web pages and i don't want to press the fn key to the "on" state.


Is there a way to invert the current fn key behavior ?


This is a desktop computer, so no BIOS invert fn key option.


Also there's no out-of-the-box known solution to this problem, even pressing the Caps + FN key option it out, not supported on this keyboard.


This bug really ruins my overall satisfaction of the product itself.

block toshiba hots key driver in windows updates - fn invert

Hi

I've updated to windows 10 from windows 7 on a toshiba satellite c670. But fn key was inverted. Then I did a clean install and it worked fine until it did the windows updates which included toshiba hots key driver - then fn key again inverted. i.e. when
press 1-4 or space you change volume etc. Only by holding fn key can you type 1-4.

Is there any way of removing this update - it is not listed in uninstall programs or windows updates. It is only present in systems32/drivers. - thotkey remove.

Secondly I going to reset back to the clean install - is there anyway of stopping it downloading this time

FN key always on

If you press “Num Lock" (might also be labeled "Num Lk”) (I’ve also seen it labeled “Pad Lock” for numeric Pad) it turns on the blue keys, and inverts the meaning of the “Fn” key – it’s a way to use that embedded numeric keypad without having to hold down the “Fn” key the entire time. To fix it, just find and press the “Num Lock” or “Pad Lock” key again. (Note, sometimes these keys are themselves “Fn” keys, so you may, or may not, need to also hold down the “Fn” key to get the right function.) Often there is an indicator light associated with the setting.

To clarify, I was saying "Accessibility" features maybe be controlled via the BIOS, not the Fn keys. And one of the Accessibility features makes the keys "sticky". This allows folks with some disabilities to press, for example, the Ctrl key, then the Alt key, and then Del in sequence instead of all at once. Same with the Fn key. The sticky feature would let you first press the Fn key, and then the F9 key (for example) and not Fn + F9 at the same time to enable/disable whatever Fn + F9 does with that notebook (it is the touchpad on my Toshiba).
