Windows 10: Can I make the "fn" key on my mac magic keyboard work in Windows 10?

Hi, so I've been using a apple Magic keyboard for my PC running Windows 10 only btw, I just happen to like Apples keyboard a lot and got all the keys working using some custom keyboard layout along with SharpKeys for changing Windows key registry around a bit.



Now SharpKeys nor any other software that Ive tried, including AutoHotKey and some random keyboard testing websites recieve any input when I hit specifically the fn key A key in the bottom left on the keyboard that has no standard PC keyboard equivalent.

So Im wondering if anyone here could help me figure a way of assigning one of those un-usused special key inputs and a way of making Windows listen to this fn key, so I can assign it to something that I can use with softwares on Windows?

The reason for me asking is that Im using several 3D suites, creative apps and VS Code all of which allow for assigning custom hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts - and having access to the fn key would then help give me more possible keyboard combinations.

Also, to avoid anyone from confusing the fn key with the several Function keys at the top of the keyboard, this is the key Im talking about: https://imgur.com/a/ANlcH65 Should probably also mention that Ive gotten all other keys on my keyboard working already, except for that fn key as well as a key for pushing out any CDs that you might normally use with an older mac which you can find on the top right of the keyboard highlighted with blue

Apple Magic Keyboard on Windows FN Key

I just go the lastest Apple Magic Keyboard (without number pad). I want to us it on my Windows 10 laptop. They keyboard is currently plugged into a USB port because I can't figure out how to connect it to my machine via bluetooth.

I'm trying to use KeyTweak to map some of the functions that Apple doesn't support like

And it looks like the FN key doesn't get registered by my system because keytweak isn't picking it up, on top of that, fn+up returns the same code as just the up key.

Is there a way to fix this?

I understand your query related to not being able to use Function keys properly on the keyboard. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
   
2. Have you tried using the keyboard on any other PC?
   

Refer the article Which version of Windows operating system am I running?



Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try using the on-screen keyboard on Windows 10 and see if the Fn key works. Refer the article

Use the On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) to type



You may also want to check if the F Lock key is toggled on the keyboard. If it is On then try switching it Off and see if the Fn key works.

Windows 10 FN Key issues.

Very disappointed that my model is not listed. After spending two days searching online for an answer to the Fn key problem, I really don't want to roll back to 8.1. I have plugged in a spare keyboard as a temporary solution. I will do some more research
as the Fn key is the only issue I have with Windows 10 so far. I called Toshiba today and their only suggestion was to call Microsoft and gave me their phone #....there is a 1.5 hour wait...
