    Can i manually change the Game Bar capture address?


    I moved my captures folder to a external so i can edit captures from either pc or laptop, but today i tried to capture and it told me "there was a problem getting your captures." i found out it re located my captures folder to my appsdata Temp folder. anyway to manually change the capture location path?

    I truly understand that you are having an issue with Xbox game bar that is not showing any captures , let's work on this together for us to fix the issue.



    Kindly follow the steps below that could possibly fix the issue.

    Fix 1 : Enable game bar in settings

    • Go to Settings
    • Then click Gaming icon to continue.
    • go to the Game Bar panel, make sure the option Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Gaming bar is on.

    Unable to "move" Captures folder for Xbox Bar Captures

    Thanks for the reply!

    I am unable to follow those steps. As I mentioned, there is no "Captures" folder. It points directly to the temp folder, and there is no Captures folder for me to edit. When I go into the properties on the temp folder, I have no "location" tab, so nothing can be changed.

    Can i manually change the Game Bar capture address?

    This is a pretty niche problem, but whenever i use the capturing feature of game bar (using 'win + alt + g' shortcut) the file names end up being really long and not very coherent.

    Is there a way to change what the file names are upon saving because I make a lot of captures and its annoying when the full name doesn't even fit on my screen and I have to rename them all manually.

    Maybe even make it so the naming is 'Capture1' and then increment?
