  1. Can I monitor Replicating Directory Changes All permissions given to a user?

My aim is to find user who gives Replicating Directory Changes, Replicating Directory Changes All, Replicating Directory Changes In Filtered Set permissions to another user. I want to log an event in which I can see user who gives permissions, these permissions names and user to whom these permissions have been given. When I give these permissions in the Event Viewer there is only one event generated. As you see in the event I can not see username to whom permissions have been given and the name of the permissions given. Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

    :)

  2. Change administrator permission

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you faced. I will certainly help you with this.

This issue may arise due to removing/uninstalling Windows 7 by using third party software (not recommended). I suggest you to follow the below given methods and check if issue persist.

    Method 1:

Run System Maintenance troubleshooter on the computer and check if any issue found. To do so, kindly follow the below given steps:

    • Press Windows and X key together and select
      Control Panel.
    • Click on Troubleshooting.
    • Click on View all option on the left side of the Windows.
    • Click on System Maintenance option.
    • Click on Next and follow the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to perform the below given steps and check if it resolve the permission issue.

    • Right click on the file and click on Properties.
    • Click on Security, check Owner should be "SYSTEM" in
      Advance tab.
    • Now check the save for C:\Users\<username>
    • Owner should also be "SYSTEM"
    • Check the users you signed into windows as (should be your Microsoft account) should be in the "Permissions entries" list with "Full Contol"
    • If not, Add the user you are logged in as.
    • All the folders and sub-folders below should be "owned" by the user you are logged into windows with
importantly, have a permissions entry for "full control"
    • Check for all the related folder where you are getting same error, but for some reason that same user is missing a "Permission Entry". Add a "full control" entry for the user and you should be able to save to that folder
      and all sub-folders

Hope this information helps. Post back with updated issue details for further help.

    Thank you.

  3. Unable to save changed document in same directory that was opened.

    Hi,

Thank you for updating on the status. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to give administrator permissions to the desired folder and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the desired folder and select Properties.
    • Click on Edit button in Properties windows. Click ok to confirm UAC elevation request.
    • Select user/group from permission windows or click
      Add
to add other user or group.
    • Now under Permission section check the rights which you want to grant i.e. check “Full Control” under the “Allow” column to assign full access rights control permissions. (Generally we add ‘Everyone’ to given permission
to all the users on the computer).
    • Edit the permission to Full Control for ‘Everyone’.
    • Click OK for changes to take effect and click ok again to exit from Properties window.

Hope the information is helpful. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.

Can I monitor Replicating Directory Changes All permissions given to a user?

Default User Directory No Permission - is that right?

I have a crowded desktop and reducing the icons in my user desktop directory didn't help much so I figured they're all in the default user directory.

but when I went to get in there I go told I had no permission.

when I looked at the permissions nothing seemed to have any permissions. I am logged in as an admin.

What should the situation be and how can I safely change it to let me clean up some of those desktop icons?
